After playing Angoori Bhabhi for almost ten years, Shubhangi Atre has finally decided to leave Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. She confirmed her exit and also revealed that Shilpa Shinde, the original Angoori Bhabhi, will take over the role again.
Shubhangi Talks About Her Exit
In her interview with Bombay Times, Shubhangi said she had promised producer Benaifer Kohli that she would start and end the show with a bang, and she feels she kept that promise.
She shared that Angoori Bhabhi changed her life, and she feels grateful for every moment she spent on the show. But now she wants to try something new.

Shubhangi didn’t go into the details behind her exit. She simply said she is in a fighter phase of her life and wants to focus completely on her daughter and her work.
Before leaving the set, she became emotional and said it felt like she was leaving her home. She also spoke about the challenge of playing an already-popular character. According to her, replacing someone requires understanding the role deeply without making it look like a copy.
Shilpa Shinde Returns as Angoori Bhabhi
Rumours about Shilpa’s comeback started a few weeks ago, and now Shubhangi has confirmed it. She said she once told her mother that Shilpa left the show within the first ten months, and now she feels happy to return the role to her.
Shubhangi called Angoori Bhabhi her “baby” and said she feels good handing it back to the actress who created it. She wished Shilpa and the entire team all the best for the show’s new phase. Shubhangi also praised Shilpa and called her a fantastic performer.
Why Shilpa Shinde Left the Show in 2016
Shilpa quit the show in 2016 after a serious fallout with the makers. She accused them of mental harassment and claimed they forced her to sign an exclusive contract. She also said the makers hadn’t cleared her payments.
The production house then sent her a legal notice and accused her of breach of contract and unprofessional behaviour. The issue blew up into a major controversy at the time.
